Late Heroics Keeps Sayville Perfect

The TD pass made the final score 22-13 over Hauppauge in one of the better battles we have had this season. The Golden Flashes came in as the #1 overall seed with a perfect 11-0 record and had a formidable opponent in #2 seed Hauppauge, who finished the regular season 11-2. The Flashes and Moynihan will now face the winner of Plainedge vs. East Rockaway in the Long Island championship this Thursday in Nassau county.

Back to Back for Half Hollow Hills

Hills were led by their dynamic quarterback Samantha Heyman. Heyman, who is just a sophomore has made a statement this season and ended it with an exclamation point in the final game of the season. Heyman ended the day 16-for-19 with three touchdown passes, and as a dual threat QB she added 66 rushing yards to her stat line. Oh, and yes she does play on both sides of the ball and had two picks.

The Longwood Lions watched three of their teams excel this spring to heights that we haven't seen in a long time. The junior varsity team finished the season with a 16-2 overall record. Coach Gregorovic led the young men to a fantastic year with contributions from everyone as they set the tone at the lower level.

Long Island Military Vehicle Club's Proud Recognition of our Military History and Veterans

If these vehicles could speak, what stories would they have to share about the mobile military history that they display on our local roads.   The Long Island Military History Vehicle Club is based out of Bohemia, and it provides a great deal of patriotism to the veterans and families of this area.  There are about twenty members who operate military antique jeeps from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, Two and Half Ton Trucks, Hummers, World War II Bicycles and Motorcycles.  While this organization is based out of Bohemia, there is also a Nassau Chapter, who provide the same positive activities within their county.  During COVID-19, there was a brief respite towards the activities of this organization that was hampered by the pandemic, but now they have a full schedule of future dates to present their unique vehicles at local events.

Christian Cox Keeps Hitting

Cox plays catcher and third base, but he is the starting shortstop on most days. Scouts have said he can throw upwards of 80 mph across the diamond and that should allow him to stay on that side of the infield. He led Shoreham Wading River to a 16-4 overall record and they went 15-3 in league play. Cox has decided to continue his career at Framingham State University in Massachusetts.

Reitan will be joined by sophomore Savannah Musso, who is also a level 10 gymnast. Musso qualified as an alternate at Nationals. The Miller Place squad has had an excellent season and another sophomore Angelina Donofrio, who is a level 9 gymnast, also qualified for Eastern Nationals in Myrtle Beach.
