Hunter Business School is celebrating a major milestone this year as its Medford campus marks its 20th anniversary, highlighting two decades of workforce training, career placement, and community impact on Long Island.

While the school’s roots date back to 1972 in Levittown, the Medford location has grown into a key educational hub, helping thousands of students transition into careers in healthcare, technology, and imaging. School officials say the anniversary is not just about longevity, but about the lives changed along the way.

“Over the past 20 years in Medford, we’ve seen firsthand how education can transform lives,” said President Jay Fund. “Our mission has always been to provide students with the practical skills, confidence, and support they need to succeed in meaningful careers. That commitment remains as strong today as it was when we opened our doors here.”

Hunter Business School focuses on accelerated, hands-on training programs designed to meet the demands of today’s job market. Programs range from Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, and Practical Nursing to Computer Technician Networking Specialist, Web Application Design, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Radiologic Technology.

The school emphasizes flexibility for adult learners, offering fast-track programs that allow students to balance education with work and family responsibilities. Support services, including career counseling and job placement assistance, are built into the student experience.

According to the school, more than 13,400 graduates have gone on to start professional careers, with many hired by leading healthcare providers, technology firms, and local businesses. Partnerships with employers have been a cornerstone of the school’s success, helping match graduates with in-demand positions across Long Island and beyond.

Graduates often point to the supportive environment as a defining feature of their experience. “Wonderful teachers… always available to help you… and a very cheery atmosphere,” said alumna Claudia E. Scola. Another graduate, Marc Salegna, credited the school’s technology program with helping him launch a career in the field.

As the Medford campus enters its third decade, school leaders say the focus remains on opportunity—providing students with a pathway to stable, rewarding careers while continuing to serve the evolving needs of the local economy.
