Organizers are calling on members of the Long Island business community to apply as volunteer charity boxers for the event, scheduled for Monday, November 23, 2026, at the Long Island Hilton in Melville.
The annual showcase will feature at least 10 bouts between local men and women who commit to rigorous training and significant fundraising efforts.
Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $10,000 to benefit a range of Long Island charities.
Since its founding in 2003, more than 375 volunteer boxers have helped raise over $2 million for local nonprofit organizations, including Long Island Community Chest, Eden II/The Genesis School, New Ground, Angela’s House and the Ferro Foundation, among others.
While no prior boxing experience is necessary, volunteers must dedicate months to physical training, promotional appearances and media outreach leading up to fight night. Participants receive coaching from seasoned professionals and support from alumni boxers throughout the process.
“Since 2003, businesspeople have volunteered to become charity boxers and many have said it was the ‘experience of a lifetime,’” said co-founder Jeff Cohen.
“Each boxer receives expert coaching to refine their skills and build physical fitness and mental fortitude, while also making valuable connections within the business community.”
An informational meeting for prospective boxers will be held Monday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m. at the Heritage Club in Bethpage.
Organizers say the event has become a staple of the Long Island philanthropic and networking calendar, drawing more than 1,200 attendees annually.
Applications are now being accepted. More information is available at lifightforcharity.org, by emailing info@lifightforcharity.org or calling 631-757-0432.
