Town of Brookhaven plans annual job fair for June at Town Hall

Daniel J. Panico Supervisor | Town of Brookhaven

The Town of Brookhaven’s Division of Economic Development, in partnership with the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council (BBAC), will host its 8th annual Job Fair at Brookhaven Town Hall on June 13. The event is scheduled from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at One Independence Hill in Farmingville.

Last year’s job fair attracted over 300 residents and featured 98 employers seeking qualified candidates for a variety of positions. Organizers say the event allows job seekers to meet directly with company representatives from Brookhaven and surrounding areas.

Businesses interested in participating can contact the Town of Brookhaven’s Office of Economic Development or register online to reserve a recruitment table. The fee is $75 for employers who sign up before May 1 and $100 after that date. For more information, businesses and attendees can call 631-451-6563.

The BBAC acts as a liaison between the business community and town government. “The council is comprised of business owners and professionals who serve on a volunteer basis. The Council’s key function is to assist Town government by disseminating information to and from the business communities. They also help to compile information on business in Brookhaven Town, and develop and implement public information programs to educate the business community regarding outreach programs and assistance available to them.” For further details about the BBAC, Lisa Mulligan, Director of the Division of Economic Development, can be reached at 631-451-6563.
