Brookhaven Business Advisory Council holds annual expo for local business networking

On October 18, the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council (BBAC) held its 14th Annual “Building Business in Brookhaven Expo” at Town Hall. The event drew more than 400 local business people and featured 100 vendors. Attendees participated in networking activities and a trade show with booths representing local, regional, and national companies that serve businesses in Brookhaven Town.

The expo was organized by the BBAC in partnership with the Town of Brookhaven Division of Economic Development, the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), and the Brookhaven Chambers of Commerce Coalition (BCCC).

Those present included Frederick C. Braun III, Chairman of the IDA; Henry Bramwell, President of BBAC; Donna Lent, Town Clerk; Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright; Brian Cohen, Vice President of BBAC; Councilman Dan Panico; Councilman Kevin LaValle; James Tullo, Deputy Director of IDA; and Lisa Mulligan, Director of Economic Development/IDA CEO.

The BBAC acts as a liaison to the Division of Economic Development. Its members are business owners and professionals who volunteer their time. The council’s main role is to help town government share information with business communities. It also compiles data on businesses within Brookhaven Town and develops public information programs to educate businesses about outreach efforts and available assistance.

According to the official website, the Town of Brookhaven Town Council supports development and resident well-being through various services such as recreational sites and youth support programs. The council promotes safety and engagement through initiatives and events for community needs.

Brookhaven delivers municipal services focused on residents’ needs and community improvements as outlined on its official website. The town serves Suffolk County residents through accessible programs and facilities. Dan Panico has served as town supervisor with an emphasis on responsible development and enhancing quality of life for residents.
