The Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce will hold its Mac & Cheese Crawl on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25, featuring 12 participating restaurants and locations in lower Port Jefferson.

“We have 12 participating restaurants and locations, which is exciting. We went live this afternoon and already sold 75 tickets," said Chamber Director of Operations Barbara Ransome.

There will be 200 tickets available each day at $30 per ticket. Tickets are nonrefundable and cannot be exchanged for another date.

During the rain-or-shine event, participants can visit each restaurant on the list, in any order, between 12 and 3 p.m.

The Mac & Cheese Crawl will feature establishments within walking distance of each other in lower Port Jefferson. While most of these are restaurants, Ransome said The Spice & Tea Exchange will serve mac and cheese with its spices.

Participants can expect a variety of dishes, including lobster, spicy versions, and options with different cheeses or short ribs, depending on the establishment, Ransome said.

Participating businesses include Barito Tacos & Cocktails, Castaways Steak & Seafood, Curry Club at Saghar, Ditch, Gourmet Burger Bistro, Nantuckets, Pasta Pasta, PJ Lobster House, The Steam Room, The Whiskey Barrel, and Tommy’s Place.

“This is a very, very popular event. It’s been going on for well over 10 years,” Ransome said.

The Chamber has used the event as a fundraiser for both itself and the Business Improvement District, as well as creating “very strong marketing activation” for merchants. It now offers three crawls annually, including October’s clam chowder event and a third crawl known for variety, including dessert, brunch, and possibly a future small bites and appetizers event, she said.

For reservations, contact the Chamber at 631-473-1414 or through its website. Then take proof of purchase to the Chamber office for a ticket and booklet with restaurant information.
