For the second consecutive year, the William Floyd United Paraprofessional and Teaching Assistant Association participated in the Suffolk County Police Department 7th Precinct’s “Hope for the Holidays” event. The gathering took place at the Mastic Fire Department on December 13, aiming to provide gifts to local children in need during the holiday season.

Members of the association volunteered by serving hot chocolate and snacks to families attending the event. In addition to their volunteer work, they made a monetary donation and purchased gifts for children. The group also contributed funds to support a Thanksgiving meal giveaway organized by the Suffolk County Police Department in late November.

“The United Paraprofessional and Teaching Assistant Association is grateful for the opportunity to serve their community in this event and will continue to support and volunteer for this program in the years to come,” said representatives from the association.

The William Floyd School District, which serves over 9,400 students across ten schools on Long Island’s south shore, encourages collaboration among students, parents, educators, and staff to support student development. More information about district programs can be found on its official website.

The district has been recognized for its contributions through alumni achievements in scholarships, education leadership, and community service. It offers a range of educational opportunities including STEM courses, career training, arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities (source).

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
