Moriches Elementary celebrates diversity with multicultural family night

Kevin Coster, Superintendent | William Floyd School District

Moriches Elementary School recently held a Multicultural Family Night, an event organized in partnership with the Moriches PTO. The event aimed to celebrate the diverse backgrounds of students and their families.

During the evening, attendees viewed “My Story” projects created by students, which highlighted their unique cultural backgrounds. The event also featured food from over a dozen countries. Students were given passports and encouraged to visit each station representing different countries to collect stamps.

Additional activities included music, crafts, games, and a performance by the Latin Dance Club, where elementary students participated as guest dancers. Organizers noted that both students and their families took part in the celebration of diversity at the school.
