The William Floyd High School varsity gymnastics team has ended its regular season with a 9-1 record, finishing second in League I. This result qualifies the Colonials for the Section XI team county championships for the third year in a row. The championship event is scheduled to take place at Hauppauge High School on Monday, November 10, at 4 p.m.

Tickets for the county championship are available for $9.40 each, which includes an $8 base price and a $1.40 service fee. Children aged 12 and under can attend free of charge. Tickets can be purchased online, and QR codes will be provided at the venue.

The team is led by head coach Rich Daly and assistant coach Lindsay Kulik. Senior athletes Katelyn Perillo and Olivia Rodriguez headline the roster alongside junior Avery Morano, sophomore Adrianna McCook, ninth graders Ava Alese and Mackenzie Lauro, eighth grader Sophia Colon (Paca), and seventh grader Natiese Lemons (WFMS). Additional student-athletes from Eastport-South Manor, Longwood, Shoreham-Wading River, and Miller Place—Julia Cebul, Isabella Manfredonia, Yosra Messoudi, Sophie Murphy, Michela Nobre, Adriana Pabon, Gia Politi, Shayna Selnick, Breanna Thomas and Alyssa Wood—are also part of the squad.

Despite injuries sidelining some key members this season, Coach Daly noted the team's resilience: “All of the girls - who got us to this point in the season with all the success we have had - are ready to go,” said Coach Daly. “This is the strongest team we have had in school history and hopefully our girls can show Suffolk County that.”

Don't Expect Bregman to Pay Off

This week, one of the bigger names in the free agency cycle signed with the Chicago Cubs, and fantasy managers everywhere sighed. Usually, anyone heading to Wrigley Field is viewed as a positive, but for Alex Bregman, more information has emerged suggesting this move could spell trouble for his fantasy outlook. Bregman is a right-handed pull hitter who previously played in two of the more favorable home parks for that profile in Houston and Boston. Both parks feature short left-field dimensions that reward pulled fly balls and help inflate power numbers.

Futures Bettors Will Be Smiling

The College Football Championship is set, and it pits two of the more unlikely teams against each other. Indiana may have the largest living alumni base in the country, with more than 800,000 graduates, but few expected the Hoosiers to reach this stage. They feature zero five-star recruits and have instead relied on depth, discipline, and consistency while dominating all season long.
