Eric Trump said he remains angry and deeply unsatisfied with the lack of answers surrounding the attempted assassination of his father, President Donald Trump, in Butler, Pa. His remarks reflect the frustration voiced by local residents, many telling The South Shore Press they reject the official account of the shooting.
Speaking on the Pod Force One program, Trump didn’t hold back. “I’m not satisfied with the answers that we’ve got from the assassination attempt. Why do we know nothing? In fact, not only am I unsatisfied, I’m wholly pissed off about it.”
Questioning the investigation’s transparency, he continued, “We see a picture of a kid who looks like he’s 14 years old, and we’ve seen no other pictures of him. We don’t know who he is. We know he has multiple cell phones. The kid was cremated in like five days or six days. Give me a break. Most family pets take longer to be cremated.”
Comparing the response to the Butler shooting with the federal investigation of the January 6 Capitol incident, Trump said, “They know everything about them. They got into their phones. They violated their rights. They found everything that they could. They put real effort into it. And on Butler, we don’t know a damn thing.”
Trump credited the president for showing restraint, saying, “I think my father’s being a gentleman about the whole thing. He’s brought calm about the situation in a time where it warranted somebody not being calm.”
Still, he added, “I’m a guy who’s not satisfied. Come out and tell the American people everything. What I’m not okay with is the fact that zero answers have been given.”
Trump’s sentiments echo those detailed in a series of South Shore Press stories based on interviews with Butler residents still reeling from the shooting.
