Stony Brook Southampton to host public talk on Parkinson's disease with Dr. Ray Dorsey

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Center for Parkinson’s Disease and the Stony Brook University School of Health Professions will host an event featuring Dr. Ray Dorsey on December 3 at Duke Lecture Hall, Stony Brook Southampton. The program, titled “The Parkinson’s Plan: An Evening with Dr. Ray Dorsey,” is scheduled to begin at 4 pm.

Dr. Dorsey, a neurologist and author, will discuss environmental factors contributing to Parkinson’s disease and address policy changes related to brain health. He will also emphasize the importance of prevention in managing the disease.

According to organizers, “Parkinson’s disease is the world’s fastest-growing brain disease. Join internationally renowned neurologist and New York Times bestselling author Ray Dorsey, MD, for a compelling lecture on the environmental drivers of Parkinson’s, the policy changes we need to shape the future of brain health and why prevention must be part of the conversation.”

Dorsey leads the Center for the Brain & the Environment at Atria Health and Research Institute. He has co-authored books including Ending Parkinson’s Disease and The Parkinson’s Plan.

The event is free and open to all community members. Attendees are invited to a reception and book signing following the lecture. Registration can be completed online through the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital website.
