Ed Hajim to discuss leadership journey and sign books at Stony Brook University

Ed Hajim, Wall Street executive | Stony Brook University Research & Innovation

Wall Street executive Ed Hajim is scheduled to speak at Stony Brook University, where he will also sign copies of his books, On the Road Less Traveled: An Unlikely Journey from the Orphanage to the Boardroom and The Island of the Four Ps: A Modern Fable About Preparing for Your Future. The event will take place on Friday, October 10, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in Student Activities Center Ballroom A. Refreshments will be available, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP.

Hajim has held senior management positions at firms such as ING Aeltus Group and MLH Capital. He currently serves as Chairman of High Vista, a money management company based in Boston. His investment career spans five decades.

Born to a Syrian immigrant, Hajim experienced a difficult childhood that included being kidnapped by his father at age three and spending years in an orphanage. In his book On the Road Less Traveled, he writes about these experiences and the insights they provided. “I realized that my childhood seemed to give me a foundation for recognizing the need for balance between self, family, work and community,” Hajim notes.

In addition to his business career, Hajim is involved in philanthropy through the Hajim Family Foundation. He received the Horatio Alger Award in 2015, which is “bestowed upon exceptional leaders who have triumphed over adversity to achieve greatness,” according to the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.

The Office of DI3 and the Career Center are organizing this event.
