The William Floyd High School girls’ varsity gymnastics team has started the fall 2025 season with four consecutive victories. Under the direction of head coach Rich Daly, the Colonials most recently defeated Connetquot at home, finishing with a score of 164.4 to 149.2. The team remains undefeated with a 4-0 record.
Despite facing several injuries among key athletes, the roster has continued its winning performance. The team includes students from William Floyd as well as Eastport-South Manor, Longwood, Shoreham-Wading River, and Miller Place.
William Floyd’s student-athletes on the team are seniors Katelyn Perillo and Olivia Rodriguez, junior Avery Morano, sophomore Adrianna McCook, ninth graders Ava Alese and Mackenzie Lauro, eighth grader Sophia Colon (Paca), and seventh grader Natiese Lemons (WFMS). They compete alongside Julia Cebul, Isabella Manfredonia, Yosra Messoudi, Sophie Murphy, Michela Nobre, Adriana Pabon, Gia Politi, Shayna Selnick, Breanna Thomas and Alyssa Wood from other area schools.
The Colonials aim for their third straight appearance in the Suffolk County Championship tournament and are also working to win League I outright this year. Their next meet is scheduled for Monday, October 6 at 5 p.m., where they will host Middle Country at William Paca Middle School.
"Keep up the great work and good luck the rest of the way, Colonials!"
