The William Floyd High School varsity football team will host the Longwood Lions in the 14th annual Parkway Power Bowl on Saturday, October 4 at noon. The game will take place at the Lincoln Avenue Sports Complex.

William Floyd enters the matchup with a 3-0 record, while Longwood stands at 2-1. The Colonials are led by head coach Paul Longo and have dominated this rivalry in recent years, holding an 11-2 series advantage. Last year’s contest ended with a close 36-29 win for William Floyd.

Key players for William Floyd include quarterback Alex Salamone, running back Ja'Quan Thomas, and offensive linemen Jayden Klemm and Matthew Benjamin. Thomas has already surpassed 600 rushing yards and scored eight touchdowns in three games this season.

The Parkway Power Bowl is an annual event between these two rivals that emphasizes sportsmanship, community relations, and healthy competition. The winner receives a plaque with the final score engraved on it—a trophy donated by the William Floyd Alumni Association—which remains at the winning school until next year’s game. Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department present the trophy during a post-game ceremony.

William Floyd’s defense has recorded consecutive shutouts leading up to this game, including a recent 34-0 victory over Sachem East. The Colonials aim to maintain their undefeated status and continue their pursuit of another championship title.

Attendance procedures require identification for entrance to the event.
