Appliance donations sought for CommUniversity Day’s Appliance Autopsy event

Kevin Gardner, PhD Vice President for Research and Innovation | Stony Brook University Research & Innovation

Donations of small appliances are being requested for the Appliance Autopsy event at CommUniversity Day. The event will allow participants to dismantle items such as toasters, laptops, and hair dryers to learn about their inner workings. Tools including hammers, goggles, and screwdrivers will be provided.

The Appliance Autopsy is organized by University and Hospital Community Relations in the Tech and Discovery Neighborhood. Attendees can also participate in “Stump Professor Longtin,” another activity featured at the same location.

CommUniversity Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, from noon to 4 pm on the Academic Mall. Admission and parking are free for all visitors.

For more information or to arrange appliance drop-off, individuals can contact communiversityday@stonybrook.edu.
