Just ahead of the 2025-2026 school year, the Sayville School District learned it had earned one incredible honor to celebrate.

The U.S. News & World Report annually publishes a list of the best public schools in the nation. Saville cracked the 2025 collection, placing as the eighth countywide and best in all of the Town of Islip.

According to the report, Sayville is in the top 8 percent of the nation’s high schools, and in the top 11 percent of New York State’s.

They hold a total enrollment of 843 students, which provides a 10:1 student-teacher ratio; a 99 percent graduation rate, with 59 percent pursuing the Advanced Placement (AP) track.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marc Ferris could not be prouder of his Sayville Golden Flashes for such a golden-caliber achievement.

“Sayville High School serves as a beacon of pride in our community and this is yet another achievement that we should all be proud of,” he said.

“Congratulations to Principal Stephanie Bricker, her staff, all of Sayville’s educators and their support staff for being recognized for all they do for Sayville’s students each and every day.”
