Seawolves football returns with home opener against Rhode Island on September 6

Stony Brook University is preparing for the return of Seawolves football at LaValle Stadium. The home opener is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, at 6 p.m., with the Seawolves, ranked #24, set to play against #9 Rhode Island.

The event is being promoted as the “For the Island” game, which aims to highlight Long Island’s community spirit. Prior to kickoff, a vendor fair will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. outside Gates 4 and 5, featuring local artists, photographers, florists and other vendors.

Attendees are encouraged to fill the stadium and participate in various activities throughout the evening. Dollar hot dogs will be available during the game.

Mascot Wolfie will appear alongside several other local mascots including Finn, Splish, Jimbo Jaws and Teddy. Fans can interact with these mascots and take photos before or during the game.
