Stony Brook President Goldsmith helps new students during move-in day

Richard L. McCormick Interim President | Stony Brook University

Stony Brook University President Andrea Goldsmith participated in the annual move-in day, assisting first-year students as they settled into campus housing on August 18. Goldsmith, who started her role as the university's seventh president earlier this month, joined staff members and student volunteers to help new arrivals unload their cars and carry belongings into residence halls.

Student athletes from Stony Brook were present to assist with moving boxes and bags into dormitories. Members of the university's cheer and dance teams greeted incoming students and their families as they arrived.

The day's activities concluded with the New Seawolf and Family Welcome BBQ at the Staller Steps, where attendees enjoyed music performed by the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band.
