On August 5, Brookhaven Town Clerk Kevin LaValle and Councilman Neil Manzella hosted the annual National Night Out at the Centereach Pool Complex. The event drew approximately 3,000 attendees, marking it as the largest turnout for this community gathering to date.
The evening aimed to strengthen ties between residents and local law enforcement in a relaxed setting. More than 50 vendors participated, distributing giveaways that were quickly claimed by those in attendance. Families had access to a full pool, food trucks, and a touch-a-truck area with interactive activities.
Brookhaven Parks Department provided the venue for the event. Organizers expressed appreciation for both the department's support and the community's ongoing participation.
Town Clerk LaValle stated, "This celebration keeps getting bigger every year. It really brings the community together. People from all over come out to enjoy themselves. Truly, it’s the most anticipated event of the year."
Councilman Manzella added, “This event grows year after year. The community loves it. Everybody comes out and has a great time. It is the highlight of the year, I would say.”
Both officials' offices are located at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville.
