Farmingville, NY - Brookhaven Town Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich has announced the relocation of a glass recycling site in the Stony Brook/Setauket area. In collaboration with the Three Village Central School District, the new location for glass recycling is now at 200 Nicolls Rd, Stony Brook, NY 11790. The bins were previously located at the Setauket Fire Department, which no longer participates in the program.
Councilmember Kornreich stated, “Our district is committed to recycling as much as we can to safeguard the future of our environment. I thank the Three Village Central School District for partnering with the Town to bring this service to the community.”
The drop-off site on Nicolls Road is one of fifteen glass recycling sites across Brookhaven. Other nearby locations include West Meadow Beach, Percy Raynor Park, and New Village Recreation Center.
Only glass bottles and jars are accepted at these drop-off points. Larger items like plate glass, mirrors, and ceramics should adhere to the Town’s bulk collection guidelines.
