William Floyd teachers are collaborating with the Mastic-Moriches-Shirley Community Library to bring back the Teachers’ Story Corner this summer. The program, which provides read-aloud sessions for children, will be held every Thursday from July 10 through August 21, except on July 31.
Students and families are invited to enjoy readings by their favorite William Floyd teachers and administrators at the library. This annual event offers a fun reading experience outside of school while introducing attendees to the library's resources.
The sessions will occur at the library's main building located at 407 William Floyd Parkway. Each Thursday evening features two half-hour sessions starting at 5 pm and continuing until 6 pm. Different William Floyd teachers will host each session. Participants can attend any number of stories without needing to register in advance.
Library staff will be present to assist with questions, book selections, and program registrations. The schedule of readers includes:
- July 10: Emily Barnes, Carly Wickers, Nicole Petersen, Nancy Kimmerling
- July 17: Erika Redmond, Felicity Masone, Wendy Gross, Michelle Pimentel
- July 24: Brianna Ferguson, Madison Gunderson, Deirdre Redding, Nikki Stallone
- August 7: Kathleen Colucci, Lauriann Kitz, Susan Folks, Desirae Cangelosi
- August 14: Emily Kunsch, Kathleen Milano, Darlene Savage, John Melandro
- August 21: Michele Manion, Ravi Seeram, Ginine Duda, Alexa Salerno
Families are encouraged to participate and take advantage of this community-focused initiative.
