Farmingville, NY - Councilwoman Jane Bonner recently participated in a ceremony honoring four young men from Troop 204 who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. The event, held on May 31st, recognized Anders Dalberg, Nicholas Comito, Aidan Elder, and Jeremy Westerlund for their service projects that improved local community spaces.
Councilwoman Bonner presented each scout with a proclamation from the Town of Brookhaven to acknowledge their leadership and contributions. "The Eagle Scout rank represents the highest level of achievement in Scouting, and these young men have truly earned it through their incredible service and commitment," she stated. "They have made meaningful improvements in our community, and we are so proud to recognize them for their achievements."
Anders Dalberg worked on enhancing facilities at the Warrior Ranch Foundation by installing fly traps, building frames for tarps to provide shade, and setting up swing boom arms for training sessions.
Nicholas Comito improved safety along the Greenway Trail in Port Jefferson – Setauket by installing reflectors along the trail and pouring concrete pads near benches to aid accessibility.
Aidan Elder contributed to St. Anthony of Padua Church CYO Fields by building an information kiosk, installing handicap parking signs, refreshing planter boxes, and restoring statues.
Jeremy Westerlund enhanced Trinity Lutheran Church's nursery school playground by creating a handicap-accessible picnic area with ADA-compliant tables and constructing a music wall for interactive play.
Councilwoman Bonner highlighted the importance of leadership and community involvement among youth during her remarks at the ceremony.
