Stony Brook University recently hosted its annual Brook Con event, drawing a diverse crowd of fans, cosplayers, artists, and gamers to the Student Activities Center on April 19. The convention is organized by Animated Perspectives, the university's anime club, with contributions from various other clubs and organizations.

This one-day convention provided attendees with an immersive experience in anime and pop culture. It featured art displays, panel discussions, cosplay events, vendor booths, and several performances. One of the highlights was the “Brook Con Live!” show.

Panel topics covered a wide range of interests including Karaoke by the Sci-Fi Forum, Cats in Anime by Cat Network, Visual Novel Intro by the Game Development and Design Club (GDDC), Pokemon Trivia by the Pokemon Go Club, Manga Page Creation by the Comic Book Club, DIY CSSA by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA), and Chikagei by Kaigai Idols at SBU. Additionally, Artist Alley was hosted by the Art Club.

Performances were delivered by groups such as KBS Dance Team, Taiko Tides, Flow Kendo Starry With: U, and Stony Breakers. The Vendor Hall had sponsorship from Cat Network, CSSA, and the Crochet Club.

Brook Con operates as a non-profit event run entirely by students with financial support from Stony Brook University's Undergraduate Student Government along with volunteer assistance.
