The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team secured its third consecutive Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) regular season championship with a decisive 15-5 victory against Hofstra University on April 27 in a contest known as the "Battle of Long Island."

The Seawolves, who hold the 20th rank nationally, are both the top seed and the host of the CAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament. The tournament is set to commence on May 1 at LaValle Stadium.

The victory over Hofstra marked Stony Brook's 12th consecutive conference regular season title, including three in the CAA and nine in the America East Conference.

In their match against Hofstra, Stony Brook (13-4, 8-0) was led by diverse scoring efforts from nine different players.
