On April 27, 2025, Supervisor Dan Panico and numerous volunteers commenced the fourth annual "Take Back 25" Clean Up in Coram, an initiative aimed at beautifying New York State Route 25 through several communities, including Coram, Middle Island, Gordon Heights, and Ridge.
The event was conducted in collaboration with the Longwood Central School District Safety Committee, the Coram Civic Association, the Middle Island Civic Association, and local officials. Many residents and community members participated despite the initiative being postponed multiple times due to rain.
"Although the rain pushed the event back three times, a large group of dedicated volunteers came out this morning to help clean up NYS Route 25 from Coram to Ridge," commented Supervisor Panico. "Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success. Over the next three weeks, leading up to the Great Brookhaven Clean Up on May 17th, our Parks, Waste Management and Highway crews will be out on Saturdays cleaning up across all six council districts in Brookhaven Town. We were to begin the effort yesterday, but the rain also canceled that effort."
The town is committed to enhancing community clean-up efforts through an encompassing program scheduled to conclude with the Great Brookhaven Clean Up on May 17.
