William Floyd High School names top 10 students in 2025 principal's list

William Floyd High School recently announced the recipients of the Principal’s Award for the Class of 2025. Principal Philip Scotto confirmed that the award, which is given to the top 10 graduating seniors, aims to recognize the achievements of these students.

According to Mr. Scotto, "This extremely talented group of seniors are all planning to attend college in the fall with a variety of majors including accounting, biology, chemical and physical biology, computer science, electrical engineering, government, health sciences, interior architecture, and music education."

The Principal's Award recipients are as follows:

- Valedictorian Alice Chen, who plans to attend Harvard University majoring in Chemical and Physical Biology with a minor in Government.

- Salutatorian Rachel Chen, who is currently undecided between majoring in Health Sciences or Biology.

- Ahmer Alqadri will attend Hofstra University majoring in Accounting.

- Brooklyn Barnes will pursue Music Education at SUNY Potsdam.

- Thomas Betz will major in Computer Science at Binghamton University.

- Aaron Fisher is set to study Mechanical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

- Victoria Juarez will attend NYU Stern School of Business focusing on Accounting.

- Zariel Macchia will attend Brigham Young University (Provo) majoring in Electrical Engineering.

- Kenny Vo Nguyen plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University.

- Drew Wiegand will study Interior Architecture at Endicott College.

Congratulations were extended to these students and the entire graduating Class of 2025.
