Members of the William Floyd community recently gathered to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation by participating in the "Brave the Shave" event at William Floyd Elementary School. This marked the second consecutive year the event took place, with administrators, faculty, staff, and students volunteering to shave their heads to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

Students who attended the assembly had the opportunity to engage further by dyeing their hair green, braiding it with green ribbons, or receiving green hair extensions to show their support. The event successfully raised nearly $2,000 for the foundation.

The principal of William Floyd Elementary School, Dr. Keith Fasciana, expressed gratitude towards the community, stating, "Special thanks to the William Floyd Elementary School principal Dr. Keith Fasciana, the William Floyd Elementary School community, the CTE Barbering and Cosmetology Academies and all of those who 'Braved the Shave' or donated to St. Baldrick’s for helping make this event such a success!"
