Residents are invited to talk H2O with the Suffolk Water Authority at an upcoming WaterTalk event in Middle Island. The public meeting will take place on March 26 at 6 p.m. at the Longwood Public Library on Middle Country Road.

“We encourage our customers to take an active role in learning about their drinking water,” said SCWA Chief Executive Officer Jeff Szabo. “This WaterTalk event will allow residents to ask questions, understand the work we do to ensure water quality and learn ways to conserve while saving on their bills.”

A panel of SCWA experts will cover topics including water quality in the Middle Island area, recent infrastructure improvements, and the differences between tap and bottled water. Attendees will also receive practical tips for reducing their water bills.

Residents interested in attending in person can RSVP by Monday, March 17, by emailing WaterTalk@SCWA.com. A virtual option will also be available, with a Zoom link posted on the SCWA’s website before the event.

The Water Authority is an independent public-benefit corporation serving about 1.2 million Suffolk County residents. Operating on a not-for-profit basis, the organization is committed to maintaining high water quality standards and providing reliable service without relying on taxpayer funding.
