Neuroscientist Anthony Zador, MD, PhD, is set to deliver the 27th annual Swartz Foundation Mind Brain Lecture on March 31 at 4 pm. The event will take place on the Main Stage of Staller Center and will also be available via livestream at stonybrook.edu/live. Dr. Zador holds the position of Alle Davis Harris Professor of Biology at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and has served as chair of Neuroscience.

The lecture series is hosted by Stony Brook University's Department of Neurobiology and Behavior with support from the Swartz Foundation, which initiated the series in 1997.

Titled "A Neuroscientist’s Guide to Artificial Intelligence," Dr. Zador's presentation will focus on the advances AI has made over recent years, including language mastery and protein structure solutions. He will discuss how neuroscience has inspired AI developments through neural networks over four decades.

Dr. Zador aims to explore how understanding brain computations can propel progress in both neuroscience and AI. He believes that this reciprocal relationship will continue to strengthen, with brain-inspired designs leading to new AI innovations while AI tools enhance our comprehension of brain function.
