Brookhaven announces sponsorships for 2025 recycling events

Karen Dunne Kesnig Councilwoman District 6 | Town of Brookhaven

Brookhaven Town Supervisor Daniel J. Panico, alongside members of the Town Council, received a $20,000 donation from four sponsors for the 2025 Spring and Fall Recycling Events. The sponsors—Suffolk Credit Union, Gershow Recycling, Maggio Environmental, LLC, and Winters Bros. A WM Company—each contributed $5,000 to support these initiatives.

The events will include thirteen E-Waste, Paper Shredding, and Drug Take Back days at various locations throughout Brookhaven. These events aim to provide residents with safe options for disposing of documents, electronic waste, and old prescription medications while also allowing cardboard recycling for the first time. All shredded paper will be recycled.

Supervisor Panico expressed gratitude towards the sponsors: "Thanks to the continued partnership with our generous sponsors, these recycling events offer residents a responsible way to dispose of materials that could otherwise harm our environment. I strongly encourage all Brookhaven residents to take advantage of these convenient opportunities and help make a positive difference in our town."

The schedule for the 2025 Special Recycling Events includes dates and locations across different council districts in Brookhaven. Residents can find more information on the town's website.
