Dr. Georgakis is the first from Stony Brook to join the CCMP. He will participate in the SSO 2025 Annual Meeting in Tampa Bay, FL, where he will be paired with a mentor from within the community. Additionally, he is expected to attend SSO 2026.

Over the next year, Dr. Georgakis will spend a week at his mentor's institution and engage in monthly webinars.
