School district releases 2025-26 calendar with new orientation day

Lorraine Mentz Trustee | William Floyd School District

The school district has released the single-page calendar for the 2025-26 academic year. Teachers will begin their year on Thursday, August 28.

An orientation day specifically for sixth and ninth graders is scheduled for Friday, August 29.

Students from kindergarten through twelfth grade will start classes on Tuesday, September 2.

This year introduces a new orientation day aimed at helping students entering sixth and ninth grades to become familiar with their new schools.

This differs from previous years when only freshmen had a designated day. The orientation is not considered an official school day nor an attendance day, but participation is encouraged. Transportation will be available for those attending, and further details will be provided over the summer.

For additional information or to view the current year's calendars, please refer to the district's website.
