Brookhaven Town Clerk launches 2025 Mobile Office tour at local library

Daniel J. Panico Supervisor | Town of Brookhaven

On January 21, Brookhaven Town Clerk Kevin LaValle took his 2025 Mobile Office to the Port Jefferson Free Public Library at 100 Thompson Street in Port Jefferson. This initiative is part of the Clerk’s Mobile Office program, which aims to facilitate residents' access to town services and information.

The Town Clerk's office is often regarded as the hub of town government, providing services such as birth, marriage, and death certificates, parking permits for persons with disabilities, amusement permits, special event permits, among others. Although privacy laws prevent the issuance of permits and certificates during mobile hours, the Clerk can assist residents in starting these processes.

The visit to the Port Jefferson Free Public Library marked the first stop on the Town Clerk’s 2025 Library Tour. The next scheduled stop is at the North Shore Public Library in Shoreham on February 13 from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Town Clerk LaValle expressed his enthusiasm for these visits: “It’s always a pleasure to host mobile hours at the various libraries across the town. Each library has its own unique character, offering a special atmosphere that reflects the community it serves. These visits allow me to connect with residents, address their needs, and bring our services directly to them. I truly value the opportunity to engage with the diverse groups that make up our town, and I’m proud to partner with these incredible libraries to make our resources more accessible to everyone."
