Thursday, January 9, 2025, has been declared a National Day of Mourning for the nation's 39th president, Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 29, 2024. William Floyd schools will be open on this day.
William Floyd schools are scheduled to be closed on the following dates this month: Monday, January 20, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Wednesday, January 29, for Lunar New Year.
Stony Brook University students participated in the "Running Wild 3K EcoWalk," a new Earthstock event conducted on April 21 at the Ashley Schiff Preserve.
William Floyd High School juniors Anabel Van Cott and Lydia Van Cott, under the leadership of two-time USTA Coach of the Year Dave Pia, earned All-State honors after finishing second in the Suffolk County Doubles Tournament held at Smithtown East on October 18–19.
