Smithtown Fire Department reaffirms commitment during COVID-19 outbreak

The Smithtown Fire Department has reaffirmed its commitment to the health and safety of the community amid the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. The department emphasized its history of handling emergencies and assured residents that measures have been implemented to protect both its members and the public.

"We are committed to the health and safety of the Smithtown community," stated a representative from the department. They also noted their continuous monitoring of the situation in collaboration with government partners, ensuring they receive up-to-date information for managing both routine emergencies and those related to COVID-19.

The department urged residents to follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), providing links to resources such as "Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)," "Keeping the Workplace Safe," "Steps to Prevent Illness," and "What To Do If You Are Sick."
