Smithtown Fire Department conducts remote elections amid social distancing

A historic election took place at Smithtown Fire Department's headquarters and online on Thursday, April 9, 2020. In line with social distancing measures, the elections were conducted via video conference with online voting. Former Chief Tim Murphy chaired the meeting with a small group present in the main meeting room while other members participated from home.

The Chiefs Staff was re-elected for another term. They were sworn in virtually by the Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners.
