Suffolk District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the sentencing of Mark Ripolone, a former Montauk businessman, to three to nine years in prison. Ripolone pleaded guilty in October 2023 to multiple counts of grand larceny after admitting to stealing nearly $400,000 over three years.
"Theft will not be tolerated in Suffolk County," said District Attorney Tierney. "Instead of devoting his efforts to the honest repayment of his victims, this defendant just chose to steal more. He can now reflect on that choice in prison."
Court documents and Ripolone's admissions during his plea revealed that between September 2018 and October 2021, he stole approximately $225,000 from customers of "123 Delivery." He obtained their bank account information under false pretenses and used it for personal expenses such as credit card debts, a home mortgage payment, and Verizon phone bills.
