Town officials explore history at Longwood Estate

Karen Dunne Kesnig Councilwoman District 6 | Town of Brookhaven

Town Clerk Kevin LaValle and Councilman Michael Loguercio recently visited Longwood Estate in Ridge as part of the "Talking History with the Town Clerk" series. They were accompanied by Longwood Estate Director Diane Shwindt and Town Historian Barbara Russell, who provided insights into the historic site.

During their visit, LaValle and Loguercio participated in a segment featuring traditional bread baking with Cassandra St. George. The Longwood Estate, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was owned by the Smith family until 1968 and acquired by the Town of Brookhaven in 1974. It now hosts various activities for residents.
