Big Honors at BOCES for Two ESM Students

Two Eastport-South Manor Jr.-Sr. High School students earned high honors from their technical Education program at the BOCES Technical Center.

Andrew Iannaccone and Samantha Jurgensen both earned the title of Employee of the Month in February.

Mr. Iannaccone received this honor for excellence in carpentry, restoration and home improvement. Ms Jurgensen was recognized for practical nursing.

The title of Employee of the Month was established by the BOCES Technical Center to recognize outstanding students whom their instructors would want to offer a job and hire.

The title is given to the individual who demonstrates professionalism and who has the desire to be trained in the field.

Record Setting Maggie McCormick Competes at Nationals

The Bay Shore Schools Board of Education recently recognized and congratulated girls varsity cross country standout Maggie McCormick for her outstanding achievements on the track and on the national stage. McCormick, who has committed to the University of Florida, was honored for her performance at the Nike Cross Country Nationals, one of the most prestigious high school running events in the country.
