What do you want to be when you grow up?
It’s a question posed to all of us at some point.
That answer was easier to answer for a group of Eastport-South Manor Jr.-Sr. High School students, who participated in “Career Connection Week” in the school’s library.
The district’s Shared Decision Making Team invited a number of professionals from different fields to share their experiences with students, inspire them, and answer all of their questions about the working world.
“This was a unique experience for community members and parents to share their experiences in the workforce and to inspire and help students to start thinking about their careers,” said ESM Jr.-Sr. High School Assistant Principal Kristyn Pellegrini.
Students were able to learn about jobs in many fields, including medical, public relations, small business owners, civil service, law, accounting, entertainment, security, and transportation.
