Ten "Teeny" Nominations for Talented William Floyd High School Students

Ten William Floyd High School theater arts students – on stage and behind-the-scenes – have been nominated for Teeny Awards in six categories.

The Teeny Awards, modeled after the Tony Awards, celebrates the achievements of local high school theater arts students at an annual celebration and ceremony sponsored by the East End Arts Council.

This year’s nominees include:

Judges’ Choice Winner: Manson Trio in Pippin featuring Kassidy Chamberlain, Gianna DeMuria and Jaysen Pommells

Lead Role in a Musical, Comedy: Jaysen Pommells in the role of Leading Player in Pippin

Best Supporting Role in a Play, One-Act or Student Production: Rajana Heron in the role of Beth in Night of One Acts

Supporting Role in a Musical, Comedy: Ashlyn Manion in the role of Berthe in Pippin and Michael Pedra in the role of Charlemagne (King Charles) in Pippin

Outstanding Performer in a Musical: Kassidy Chamberlain in the role of Featured Dancer in Pippin and Kiya Cuevas in the role of Theo in Pippin

Outstanding Poster Design: Catherine Corry for Pippin

This year’s Teeny Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 9th, at 3:00 p.m. at William Floyd High School, with the red carpet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
