New York State Senator Anthony Palumbo was one of many local leaders to attend a solemn and somber ceremony at the Long Island State Veterans Home, where many honored and remembered those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and paid tribute to our local veterans.

“This Memorial Day, we honor those who lost their lives in service to our country and are forever grateful to the men and women of our Armed Forces who defend our nation and protect our freedoms and liberties,” said Senator Palumbo.

The Long Island State Veterans Home, located on the Stony Brook University campus, provides skilled nursing care, adult day health care, and short-term rehabilitation to the more than 100,000 Veterans who live in Suffolk County and all of Long Island. It is one of 163 State Veterans Homes across the country.
