225,000 Flags Placed at Calverton National Cemetery


A team of 5,000 volunteers honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice | Calverton National Cemetery

An estimated 5,000 volunteers were on hand to place American flags on graves at Calverton National Cemetery. A wide range of Veterans Service Organizations, Scout groups, volunteers, and families placed an estimated 225,000 flags on gravesites across the cemetery. These flags will remain there until June 1st, 2024. Larger flags now line the “Avenue of Flags.” Those will be on display in and around the cemetery until June 9th, 2024.
