At the Board of Education meeting on October 29, 2024, school safety was the main topic of discussion. The focus was on installing metal detectors at all designated entrances in K-12 schools. This measure aims to enhance security for students and staff.
The meeting featured presentations from Officer McVeigh of the Suffolk County Police Department Homeland Security Section and Michael Stam, Director of Security for the William Floyd School District. Their insights contributed to understanding the importance and implementation of increased security measures.
