Military Times has recognized Suffolk County Community College as a Best for Vets college for the sixth consecutive year. This ranking is part of an annual list that identifies top colleges and universities for military service members and veterans, serving as a crucial resource for veterans looking to optimize their educational benefits.
This year, 304 schools were included in the list, highlighting their dedication to supporting the military community's educational pursuits. Suffolk County Community College was ranked 10th in New York and 14th in the Northeast among public colleges as a 2024 Best for Vets College.

Military Times conducts surveys annually with colleges and universities across the nation to assess their veteran-focused programs. Suffolk County Community College is noted as the largest community college within the State University of New York (SUNY) system, enrolling over 21,000 students in more than 100 degree and certificate programs.
