Twenty-eight students from William Floyd High School have been chosen to participate in the upcoming New York State Council of Administrators for Music Education (NYSCAME) All-County Music Festival. This event, scheduled for next month, honors junior and senior musicians who have shown exceptional talent.
The selected students include Hannah Acero-Grant on French horn, Nia Alicea as alto 1, Aisha Barrie as alto 2, Brooklyn Barnes on flute, Janelly Bednarek as alto 2, Thomas Betz on trumpet, Joseph Cabrera as bass 2, Kolton Chamberlain on tuba, Joshua Crespo on baritone saxophone, Kiley Druek as soprano 2, Darren Ertola in percussion, Caitlyn Fioto as alto 2, Max Heitman as bass 1, Melanie Hilario as alto 1, Ivory Lezama as alto 1, Jayden Lopez as bass 2, Ashlyn Manion as alto 2, Gabriella Mercado as tenor 1, Brandon Mott as tenor 1, Ava Ng on viola, Michael Pedra as bass 1, Mali Roberts as soprano 2, Devin Scalice on French horn, Evan Schoefer on violin, Jackson Seifert on trombone, Colin Smith as bass 2; Jacob White on clarinet; and Ben Zozzaro as tenor 1.
Recognition is also extended to their teachers Garry Helbock and Kim Hyland (band), Diana Brown-Hoppe and Sarah Weber (orchestra), Donia Rivera and Michelle Seifert (choral), along with the entire music department across the district for their dedication in preparing these talented musicians.
