Noah Green, a 20-year-old resident of Shirley, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in a gang-related shooting incident that took place in front of former U.S. Congressman Lee Zeldin's home in October 2022. The sentence includes five years of post-release supervision. Green pleaded guilty to charges including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree after shooting at three individuals and injuring two.

"This was a horrific act of gang-related violence that put innocent lives at risk. The defendant’s decision to open fire on a residential neighborhood, with two young girls inside the home he shot towards, demonstrates a complete disregard for human life,” stated Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney. He emphasized the importance of addressing gang violence and providing positive alternatives for youth.

The investigation revealed that on October 9, 2022, Green left his home with an accomplice in a stolen Honda CRV. Upon encountering rival gang members near Congressman Zeldin's residence, Green fired multiple shots from the vehicle, hitting two individuals who survived their injuries. At the time of the shooting, Zeldin's daughters were inside their home.

Following the incident, Green reportedly boasted about his actions on social media and frequently displayed his gang affiliation online through photos and videos featuring weapons and stolen vehicles.

On October 31, 2022, law enforcement observed Green leaving his residence and entering the stolen vehicle again. When approached by officers, he attempted to flee but was apprehended after damaging a police vehicle during his escape attempt. Officers recovered a loaded Taurus 9mm pistol from him, which was identified as the weapon used in the earlier shooting.

Green pleaded guilty on September 12, 2024, before Acting Supreme Court Justice Anthony S. Senft Jr., admitting to three counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree among other charges. On October 15, Justice Senft delivered Green's sentence.

Chad LaVeglia represented Green during legal proceedings. Assistant District Attorneys Martha Duffy and Donald Barclay prosecuted the case as part of efforts led by Suffolk County District Attorney’s Gang Task Force and Detective Michael Yonelunas from Suffolk County Police Department.
