Brookhaven holds memorial for 23rd anniversary of 9/11 attacks

Farmingville, NY – On September 11, Supervisor Dan Panico led a memorial service to honor the nearly 3,000 people who perished as a result of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and at Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The ceremony was held at the 9/11 Memorial Garden at Brookhaven Town Hall and included the traditional ringing of the fire bell by Chief Fire Marshal Chris Mehrman in memory of the first responders who heroically gave their lives in the line of duty.
