Help from the Library Now Available 24/7

“I need three more sources about Eleanor Roosevelt for my essay,” or “I don’t remember how to do long division the way the teacher showed us.” It’s 7 o’clock on a Sunday, and the library is closed. Now what?

Many students rely on the internet for homework, but even AI tools don’t always measure up when it comes to successful school assignments.

Residents can now take advantage of a free library product designed just for students called Brainfuse HelpNow. You can access this service online at no cost using your library card barcode. To use it, visit:

https://www.livebrary.com/study-homework-help

The service is available every day with live tutors, 24/7, with some features—such as the Writing Lab—available on a submit-and-respond basis. Brainfuse HelpNow employs certified teachers across all subject levels who interact with students in real time using a chat and whiteboard interface. Rather than doing homework for students, tutors are trained to guide and coach them to work through answers on their own.

Students can get help in math, science, reading and writing, social studies, AP classes, and even preparation for state standardized tests, as well as the PSAT, SAT, and ACT exams. Brainfuse HelpNow tutors are familiar with curriculum standards and even the “new math” methods. Tutoring assistance is also available in Spanish.

In addition to live help sessions, Brainfuse HelpNow offers unique features that supplement learning beyond traditional homework help. The Skills Building feature allows students to choose state-aligned lesson plans to practice what they are learning in school. Features such as My File Sharing allow students to send works in progress to tutors for constructive feedback.

My Session Replay captures the entire help session so students can review it after the session ends and reinforce what they learned. My Tutoring Archive saves all tutoring sessions, while My Test Archive allows students to save and review practice tests taken through the service.

A 24-hour Writing Lab is another valuable tool, allowing students to submit essays and other writing ahead of assignment due dates for feedback. A writing tutor reviews the submission, makes suggestions for improvement, and responds to the student. With features like these, even students who don’t require tutoring can benefit by supplementing their classroom experience outside of school.

The service isn’t limited to K–12 students. Many adults are returning to school to complete high school equivalency diplomas or earn college degrees to improve job prospects and skills. Adult learners can benefit from Live Help’s extensive adult learning content, including GED preparation, professional assistance with résumé and cover letter writing, U.S. citizenship preparation, and learning software such as the MS Office Essential Skills Series.

Residents of Mastic, Mastic Beach, Moriches, and Shirley who don’t yet have a library card can sign up for a temporary card online at live-brary.com and begin using the Live Help service the same afternoon.

Online products like Brainfuse HelpNow provide a cost-effective academic support system that families are encouraged to take advantage of. Working-parent households, families with students across multiple age groups and learning levels, students who need help in a specific subject, those who require general homework support, or those who thrive with one-on-one guidance are just some of the many learners who can benefit from the library’s Live Help services.
