Suffolk Community College Foundation continues scholarships for local Latino students

The Suffolk Community College Foundation has announced the continuation of two scholarship programs to support students in the Patchogue/Medford area, including those from Latino backgrounds. These scholarships aim to help students facing financial barriers as they pursue their education at Suffolk County Community College.

Suffolk County Community College will host an open house on Sunday, November 3, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. The event will take place at all three of the college’s campuses in Riverhead, Selden, and Brentwood, as well as its Culinary Arts and Hospitality Center in Riverhead.

Suffolk County Community College has announced the successful completion of its recent Summer High School Offshore Wind Turbines course, aimed at introducing high school students to the growing field of wind energy. The college conducted two separate summer sessions, providing a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience.

Freda Asiedu, a student at Suffolk County Community College from Brentwood, NY, is among the 210 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members named a 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Exhibit by Cliff Baldwin opens at Suffolk County Community College

Cliff Baldwin: “In All Languages,” an exhibit of paintings, films, and prints will be on view at the Suffolk County Community College Eastern Campus’ Lyceum Gallery located in the Montaukett Building from September 4 through October 19, 2024. There will be a reception for the artist on Thursday, September 12 from 4 – 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend.
