Suffolk County Community College partners with St. Joseph's University for expanded student opportunities
Suffolk County Community College and St. Joseph's University have announced a new partnership aimed at providing students with guaranteed acceptance into nearly all of St. Joseph’s programs through joint admission. This initiative includes 48 articulation agreements between the two institutions, promoting educational advancement while allowing students to remain on Long Island.
Suffolk County Community College renames nursing school after Jane F. Shearer
Suffolk County Community College has renamed its nursing school to honor Jane F. Shearer, who dedicated over 30 years of service to the institution. The new name, Jane F. Shearer School of Nursing, pays tribute to her contributions as the Eastern Campus Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and President of the Guild of Administrative Officers before her passing from cancer in 2019.

The Suffolk Community College Foundation has announced the continuation of two scholarship programs to support students in the Patchogue/Medford area, including those from Latino backgrounds. These scholarships aim to help students facing financial barriers as they pursue their education at Suffolk County Community College.

Suffolk County Community College will host an open house on Sunday, November 3, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. The event will take place at all three of the college’s campuses in Riverhead, Selden, and Brentwood, as well as its Culinary Arts and Hospitality Center in Riverhead.

Cliff Baldwin: “In All Languages,” an exhibit of paintings, films, and prints will be on view at the Suffolk County Community College Eastern Campus’ Lyceum Gallery located in the Montaukett Building from September 4 through October 19, 2024. There will be a reception for the artist on Thursday, September 12 from 4 – 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend.
